A special diet to facilitate the culture of rotifers at high density (up to 3000 rotifers per ml) during a reduced culture period of 3 days

Culture Selco^® 3000 exhibits the following characteristics:

• Double rotifer output relative to traditional cultures up to 3000 per ml
• Bacteria levels comparable to those of traditional systems
• Reduction in culture time to only 3 days
• Specific Growth Rate up to 40% higher than in traditional culture systems
• High egg production during the entire culture period
• Food consumption comparable to that of Culture Selco^®
• No deleterious effects on larvae in terms of growth, survival, deformities and hygiene
• Facilitates the intensification of larvae production
• Facilitates the partial replacement of Artemia using rotifer biomass
• Sum(n-3)HUFA: min. 17 mg/g dwt

Bacteriological analysis has shown that the bacteria loading using the Culture Selco^® 3000 protocol is not significantly altered during intensification.

Larvae fed on Culture Selco^® 3000 reared rotifers exhibit the same high performance when compared to larvae fed normal Culture Selco^® reared rotifers.
